| Critical Values |
 |
Sanford Laboratories' Medical Director and Technical Supervisors have determined critical values based on medical significance for selected tests. When a result considered a "critical value" is entered into the computer system, an automatic prompt will be displayed with the information necessary to call the critical values. This process will expedite contacting the physician when critical values are encountered.
When Sanford Laboratories is unable to reach a client during Sioux Valley Clinical Laboratories night testing hours, a phone call will be placed during the next regular business hours of the client. The report will be printed in the usual fashion. A summary of the common critical values is listed below.
